I’m Ben Gaspar. Empathy, research and creativity drive my design decisions. If I make an assumption, it won’t be an assumption for long. Brainstorming solutions is one of my favorite aspects of being a designer, only second to validating these hypotheses with user feedback, data and monetary results.
I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago in a town called Glen Ellyn. I currently reside in Lincoln Park, Chicago and anticipate living in my favorite city for the foreseeable future. I’m currently open to Chicago based and remote opportunities.
As a graduate of Indiana University, I studied Informatics with a focus in HCI and Telecommunications. My Bachelor of Science served as a strong jumping off point where my passion of UX began and has grown ever since.
My first role in UX was designing Accreditation Management software at Indigo Interactive. At this small start-up, my design thinking was critical in improving the approach of the entire company. Clients and users raved about the design research and prototyping process I implemented. They felt heard and their needs accounted for in a way they hadn’t experienced before.
My second role was designing for an intelligence driven, AdTech product that combines essential marking functions for advertisers at 4C Insights. This role has allowed me to work with some of the nations’ top data scientists, product managers, developers and designers. 4C Insights was acquired by Mediaocean in Summer 2020 for $200 million (not bad for a 6 year start-up of 200 employees). Today I am working at Mediaocean, helping to bring the innovation engine of 4C to the larger corporation.
UX perfectly combined my academic interests; psychology, creativity, and science. I am looking for the next opportunity in my UX career to continue creating innovative products and to pursue the continued growth that awaits me.

Jenny McKenzie
Director of UX - 4C Insights
“I am impressed by the way Ben approaches design problems in a measured and thoughtful way. He often comes up with multiple solutions backed by sound reasoning, evaluates the pros and cons to each, and is open about where there might be gaps in knowledge. Ben is also great at positioning his ideas inside and outside of the design team by doing research and explaining his thought process."
Cody Slager
UX Designer - Indigo Interactive
“Ben is a talented UX professional and was constantly growing. Before designing, he always focused on research and understanding client needs and wants. Doing so not only led to high-fidelity deliverables but was also greatly appreciated by the clients themselves. Many clients expressed their gratification with working with Ben. He always extracted the appropriate data from users when interfacing with them and it showed in his deliverables. He used whatever resources he had at his disposal for improving and testing his designs. Ben was also a great teammate.
He was a positive presence in the office and well-liked by his coworkers. He helped out wherever he could outside of his job duties - from cleaning the office to QA smoke testing and more. I would absolutely work with Ben again and recommend him for any UX position.”
